Next club day: TBA
Hi all, just a quick summary of the goings on from last weekend.
The Xmas club weekend has been keenly anticipated for some time and it was good to see a good turn out of club members and other family members attend. I think there was 15 clubbies who turn up for the comp day and a good contingent of the that number arrived on the Friday, some stayed on for the Saturday night to fish again on the Sunday (of which was a club day).
Myself, Graeme Duncan, Mark Ray, Thomas Murphy, Graeme Lewer, Stace Lewer, Steve Reid, Nic Twaddle, Russell Prince, Dylan McIntyre, Roneil Govender, Gary Turner, Blair Cameron, Richard Bevege fished the Saturday comp. I think everybody caught plenty of fish, the snapper fishing didn’t disappoint and some great fish were caught with 3.9kg the heaviest snapper from Nic Twaddle. Richard Bevege caught a 67cm snapper but was gut hooked and died at the scene. Graeme got circled by a reasonable shark and high tailed to another place, Sam (Mark’s nephew) fell off his kayak at sea and lost 2 rods and reels, the fish tackle shops enjoy supporting the club as we have a relatively high attrition rate of gear compared to other forms of fishing.
The weather was real kind to us with a reasonable coolish Friday night and a shower coming through Sunday afternoon. The sea was terrific both days. The camp ground owner Joshau Kauta and his son Calib were friendly and helpful. Have a look at some of the photographs on our website, ebopkayakfishing.com. Teri-Ann from Flatline computers will be putting them up asap.
Also AGM mins will follow very soon as well. Yes we finally have a new and full executive!
Tight lines
